A 6 Day holiday snow safariing from Utsjoki , the remote eponymously named village in Finnish Lapland's northernmost 'Kunta' (pop 1,200) which stretches across vast open fjells, wilderness lakes and river valleys to the Teno river formng the border with Norway. You'll stay with Henry Valle & his family snow shoeing, cross country skiing, reindeer sledding, ice fishing and cross the border to go husky mushing. You'll live the life of the Sami, learn to read animal snow tracks & immerse yourself in Sami culture (more than half of Utsjoki's population are Sami). And of course search for the Northern Lights in this vast, arctic desert wilderness where all you can hear is the sound of the wind winding its way along the valleys and up through the trees.
Owner driven by Henry Valle and his family, the Valle Holiday Cabin Village is by the Teno River about 2km from the village centre. There are 5 wood cabins each a short step from the main hospitality building which houses the reception area and a Lappish styled restaurant overlooking the river and the distant Norwegian fjells. Each cabin has two twin bedded bedrooms, a kitchenette/living room area with open log wood fire, sauna and shower/WC; if you want to make up a larger party, Henry also has a larger 3 bedroomed house and an apartment that can sleep up to 8 in 4 bedrooms.
Guide prices are in part based on our mid-level contract air fares which are veriable in real time unlike our ground supplier contract costs which are generally fixed. We don’t do fancy lead in prices and the time you confirm your booking always use the lowest air fare available. This may mean the confirmed price of your holiday being slightly less or more than the guide price in which case a proportionate reduction-supplement will apply. Carpe Diem = the earlier you book the better, especially for public & school holidays.
