All Our Finnish Portfolio Adventures

Your Adventure

A week-long adventure for art & design aficionados introducing Finnish design and architecture; visiting the homes of famous designers such as Alvar Aalto and Eliel Saarinen and sampling some of the country’s finest cuisine.  You’ll also visit many studios, workshops, the Arabia factory outlet and Fiskars with a private guide and a private car. Accommodation in three different hotels in three different destinations: Helsinki, Fiskars and Jyväskylä.

Glo Hotel Art

A Florida widow of a hotel as in a near century old structure untouched and showing its years but with parts that have been cosmetically renovated and to which has been added an entirely new extension (2012). The left side hand side of the building is Jugendstil, originally built as a University fraternity house with hand painted vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows & granite fireplaces. The public areas: library, breakfast room, lobby and vestibule are all ‘protected’. By way of a complete contarst the bedrooms (171) are all ultra-modern, matt black, smoked glass, designer lighting, edgy bathroom fitments set off with earthy coloured fabrics. Staff unfailingly charming & helpful.

Fiskars Wärdshus

Hotel Wärdshus is one of the oldest hotels in Finland. It has been a BnB for travellers from the year 1836, and these days it serves as an elegant and cozy hotel and restaurant with excellent food. Hotel Wärdshus or "Wärssy" as the locals call it is located in the idyllic village of Fiskars in southern Finland, 1 hour's drive away from Helsinki.

Sokos Solo Paviljonki

Solo Sokos Hotel Paviljonki is located in the centre of Jyväskylä city, close to the beautiful lakes of middle Finland. Paviljonki offers many rooms from standard twin rooms to junior suites with own saunas. The rooms are all decorated with Finnish design and some of them have a view to the lake. You can also find a gym and sauna from this well-equipped hotel.
