A 5 Day holiday on the coastal edge of Swedish Lapland's Lulea Archipelago:1300 islands dotted amongst the upper reaches of frozen Gulf of Bothnia staying at owner driver Göran Widén's Pine Bay Lodge. In this unique marine wilderness you can take a hovercarft to the edge of the ice pack, mush huskies, snowshoe in search of the Northern Lights or snowmobile across the ice or in the forest. And at the end of each day wrap yourself up in the warmth of the Lodge and in the Swedish Lapland. In the summer the Archipelago is accessible by boat but if your trip falls in winter, the lodge is best accessed by snowmobiling across the frozen sea (an awe-inspiring experience in itself). About 30 minutes away from Lulea city, you’re close enough to everything you could need yet secluded enough to make the most of the Swedish wilderness.

Pine Bay Lodge sits on the coastal edge of the Lulea archipelago in the Gulf of Bothnia, a small hotel in a Swedish red cottage style with just rooms for a personal and intimate atmosphere. The centre of the guesthouse is a large open-plan dining and lounge area with an enormous open fire, and there is also a sauna. On your doorstep are such as snowmobile safaris, dog sledding, hovercraft tours, Nordic winter skills, northern lights sled tours, northern lights snowshoe walks, ice fishing, cross karting & dining on ice.
Fly via Stockholm’s Arlanda airport to Lulea in Swedish Lapland where you'll land mid-afternoon local time and be met by your local guide who'll transfer you to the Pine Bay Lodge. Check in to your room, take dinner served in the Lodge’s restaurant and afterwards set off on a search for the Northern Lights by snowshoe.
Design your own days from a choice of adrenaline pumping snowmobiling (Modern Polaris 4 stroke machines with their low centre of gravity are easy and safe to drive, controlled for acceleration and braking from the handle bar, and have a 'kill switch' to shut down the engine in emergencies); husky mushing with your pack of Siberian dogs; ice fishing for perch, pike and turbot or taking a hovercraft out to the Island of Brändöskär. And of course a must do is a Nordic Winter Skills course learning how to cross country ski and snow shoe.
Take breakfast and then transfer to Kiruna airport for your return flight to the UK via Stockholm.

Guide prices are in part based on our mid-level contract air fares which are veriable in real time unlike our ground supplier contract costs which are generally fixed. We don’t do fancy lead in prices and the time you confirm your booking always use the lowest air fare available. This may mean the confirmed price of your holiday being slightly less or more than the guide price in which case a proportionate reduction-supplement will apply. Carpe Diem = the earlier you book the better, especially for public & school holidays.
