The hotel rooms are self contained cabins of different sizes and styles to the north and south of the hospitality building.  A stone's throw away is the hotel's Arctic spa with changing rooms, outdoor and indoor pools, aroma and mineral saunas, mountain stream, juice bar, relax room and sit out area.

Giron Cabin Hotel rooms (for families & 27 m2  ) have 2 rooms, one a separate  bedroom with bunk  beds  the other an open plan sitting room with a dividable double bed. Giron rooms lie to the south side of the hospitality building

1st Day UK – Swedish Lapland

fly high above the Arctic Circle to Kiruna, the gateway to Swedish Lapland alongside of which the Torne river valley marks the border between Sweden & Finland. Transfer to the Hotel Camp Ripan, check in and settle in to your cabin. Wander in to the town (10mins) to get a feel for the place and have supper locally or alternatively, begin your adventure with a 3 course supper themed around the Arctic Aurora paired with a Northern Lights presentation which, with the forest visible on the other side of the glazed walls of the Ripan's Andrum building, has an almost ‘son et lumiere’ effect.

2nd Day Family Reindeer Safari Optional Safaris

after breakfast transfer to the Sámi village of Rensjön to meet reindeer herder/owner Marja Kuhmunen. In the corral you'll meet & mingle her with her reindeer, feed them lichen by hand and afterwards warm up in her Sámi kåta around an open fire, settle down on soft reindeer hides and enjoy a lunch prepared from her own reindeer meat. The afternoon & evening are ones of agonizing choices (in fact its best to do a bit of pre-planning before you go, such are the ones available). You can take it easy with a snow shoe trek through the birch and pine forest or ski on Luossavaara the city mountain with its 4 pistes including one for children. Go out to Mats Berg and Kerstin Nilsson’s stables in Poultsa by the Kalix River for a ride on a 5 gaited Icelandic (sic) horse) or, if you have older children, go hardcore and snowmobile up to towards the twin peaks of the Kebnekaisse massive, Sweden’s highest mountain. Not forgetting you can do many of these in the evening whilst keeping an eye out for the Northern Lights. .

3rd Day Family Husky Mushing Optional Safaris

after breakfast travel a short distance to Peter & Ylva's husky kennels where one or the other of them will introduce you to their dogs, their children Björn, Helge & Leo, and perhaps even a puppy or two. After a short tuition in the musher’s art and with children safely tucked up under insulating reindeer hides on your other half’s lap you set off through the forest. Instantaneously the excited barking subsides and the only sound you'll hear is the swish of the birch sled’s runners slicing through the snow and the muted padding of the dog’s paws on the snow. En route you’ll see Sweden's highest mountain, the imposing Kebnekaise, and invariably catch sight of moose alongside your drive paths before fetching up back at Ylva's home for a sooty coffee, and flat bread. Later back at the hotel re-charge your batteries and chillax in the hotel’s Aurora Spa.
